PRESIDENT’S PODIUM

TO ALL OUR MEMBERS…

THANK YOU for the honor of being allowed to be your President for the last year. The position can be grueling at times, but it is very rewarding to be President at a time of growth within the Chapter.

In the past fiscal year, the current Board reviewed the state of the Chapter’s finances and looked at all the great things we’ve been doing, and how much more we would like to do in the future, and had to face a few unhappy facts: Prices for everything have gone

up; Prices of chapter memberships and meetings have remained unchanged for more years than any of us could remember.

We as a Board decided that it was in the best interests of the Chapter to continue to present good Educational Programs and meetings, and to be able to continue to offer selected I-Sessions free to our members. We reviewed catering costs, speaker costs,

webinar (I-Session) costs, costs of doing all the things we do. All these things considered, we determined that dues and fees increases were necessary. And we wanted to make all of the increases at one time in hopes and

expectations that no additional increases will be needed by the Chapter for another long period of time. HINTS: Renew now and save money. Buy a Pay Pack now and save more money!

Therefore, beginning with the new fiscal year on July 1, 2008, Chapter membership fees will increase from $92 to $106 and meeting fees will increase from $15 for members to $20. Meeting costs for non-members will increase from $20 to $30. Prospective professional members will continue to be able to attend their first meeting free.

On another note, If you haven’t voted in the KCIFMA Executive Board Elections, please do! And then join us at the Chapter’s Annual Meeting and Officer Installation at the Embassy Suites on the Plaza on June 17. The Scholarship Committee will also try to get the 2008 scholarship winners to attend this meeting so that you can meet them and wish them well.
